Map modifier system
Wanderers! We introduced a new modifier system to the game in the latest update. We would like to tell you more about it in this article!
What are map modifiers?
Map modifiers offer a new way to experience familiar locations by introducing unexpected conditions, amping up the threat level, and presenting new opportunities.
Modifiers allow you to temporarily change the rules on the map: strengthen enemies, increase the value of the loot, or even completely alter the usual gameplay loop. At the same time, the map itself remains familiar but feels entirely different.
Our goal is to diversify the gameplay and add new scenarios without disrupting the familiar cycle of exploration, combat, and resource gathering.
New map ambiance
The modified maps are recognizable even without looking at the button next to the map’s name on the selection screen.
Each modified map features special lighting, like warm or sunset hues, that create a sense of tension and highlight the sector’s changed state. Familiar places now look different, as if to warn you: something has changed here.
Cooperation
This modifier is available to players with an account level of 10 or higher. The first modifier offers players a slightly different perspective on what’s happening in the sector, where the main threat comes from the environment rather than other players.
The main idea behind the mode is to provide players with an opportunity to team up and undertake raids against reinforced enemies, raids that would be extremely risky for solo players. We wanted to see how players would respond to the cooperative gameplay format and whether they were willing to team up to fight dangerous enemies.
Despite the increased difficulty, the rewards remain the same as on the common version of the map. The main challenge comes from the battles themselves and the need to work together.
Surplus resources
This modifier is available to players with an account level of 5 or higher. With this modifier active, an increased number of technogenic resources appear on the map, making them particularly attractive to players seeking valuable loot. However, the sector becomes much more dangerous due to more threatening enemies.
Stronger versions of familiar NPCs now patrol the area, and they use more powerful weapons in combat.
Additionally, there are Sentries on the map, the lightweight but extremely persistent ships capable of turning the extraction of resources from the location into a true struggle for survival.
Stronger enemies

When this modifier is active on the map, all hostile NPCs are equipped with new weapons. The stronger enemies are:
- Sentinels
- Punishers
- Defenders
- Fighters
- Transport ships
These enemies become significantly more dangerous and require a more cautious approach to combat.
Furthermore, when the “Cooperation” modifier is active on the map, you may encounter reinforced caravans: a special group of NPCs consisting of three transport ships with enhanced energy shield durability, which are guarded by reinforced defenders. The transport ships’ cargo holds contain a great deal of valuable loot. With the same modifier active on the map, you may also encounter Hounds, another new type of enemy that won’t leave you alone.
Updated map modifier schedule
Wanderers, based on your feedback, we’ve adjusted the schedule for map modifiers:
What’s next?
The modifier system is a new tool for creating a diverse gaming experience. Using it, we’ll be able to launch new in-game activities, experiment with game conditions, and host special events.
The first iteration of the system showed promising results; however, thanks to your feedback, we’ve identified areas that need attention. At a minimum, we plan to address the “fairness” issue with rewards in the “Cooperation” mode so that everyone is rewarded for participating. Going forward, we plan to add new modifiers and experiment with various game conditions.
In the meantime, you can explore the changed sectors and let us know which challenges you enjoyed the most!
